We are striving to provide a safe environment for students both at school. A key component to this is the need for students to safely arrive at school. With students needing to cross major roadways on their way to school, we want to provide as safe of passage as possible. Even with designated crosswalks and lighting, crossing the road is still hazardous. A community crosswalk program has been started to help reduce the risks. However, volunteers are needed. If you are interested, please see the information below and sign up.

The Community Crosswalk Program will rely on community and parent volunteers to serve as crossing guards before and after school at four of the most heavily used crosswalks surrounding Stephensen Elementary. Crossing guards, prior to and after their shift, must pick up/return a sign and reflective vest from Stephensen’s front desk. Morning volunteers are to be in place at their crosswalk from 0745-0815. Afternoon volunteers are to be in place at their crosswalk from 1500-1530.
If you are unable to fulfill a shift you have signed up for and it is more than 24 hours in advance of a shift, please remove yourself from Sign-Up Genius for that shift. If you must give less than 24 hours notice, please text Ms. Vaughn at 208-409-9904.
Thank you for working together to keep our Gunfighter students safe!
