With the increased frequency of remote learning this year, we have some non-custodial adults monitoring children at home during the online portion of learning. Many of these adults need academic information on the students they are looking after to properly monitor them; but as a school, we are only allowed to give that information to the legal parent/guardian. We do not want to violate any FERPA laws. So, if parents want someone else to be able to access this private information, the legal parent/guardian must submit a signed and notarized Special Power of Attorney - Educational & Childcare to the front office of the school.

A few guidelines for an appropriate POA are listed here:
- A parent/guardian may provide a handwritten POA that has been signed and notarized. The POA does not need to be written or approved by a lawyer, but does need to be signed and notarized.
- A parent/guardian may provide the linked general POA with signature and notarized.
- A parent/guardian may strike language on the linked POA that they do not want their appointee to have rights to or that isn't applicable as long as it is signed and notarized.
